Learn how to unlock the magic of tea, one of the healthiest drinks on earth, in the fermentation of kombucha. This will be a hands-on-workshop.
All supplies will be provided so you can to go home with your own kombucha brew (including SCOBY)
Kombucha is an energizing and refreshing probiotic drink. It is made by fermenting sweet tea with a SCOBY, a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. Kombucha can be energizing because it is often made with black tea, leaving residual caffeine and other byproducts in the fermented drink.
Kombucha has been fermented for centuries and was said to have been named after a Korean physician named Kombu who used the tea for healing. He was the physician to the Japanese Emperor Inyko, and is said to have used the tea to heal him. The word kombu+ cha means tea. Kombucha is also known as “The Tea of Longevity”.
Kombucha is a great ferment to add fruit to in a secondary fermentation process. This is a fun way to make your own flavors in a refreshing fizzy beverage.
In my online workshop you will take a deep dive into the health benefits, science behind each fermentation, step-by-step instructions (written, photo and video instructions) and the best recipes for each ferment.
